Joe Holka has been appointed Chief Content Officer at Chalkboard. It is a social messaging platform for sport bettors.
The appointment comes as the group “continues to pursue its mission of becoming the home of the sports betting conversation,” a statement from Chalkboard read.
Holka will oversee the strategy and production of the company’s content, drive partnerships with new content creators and influencers, and help sports betting content creators monetise their shows within the Chalkboard platform.
“When I think of conversations around sports betting, Joe is one of the first people who comes to mind,” said Chalkboard CEO Ted Mauze. “Joe knows exactly what type of content Chalkboard users value most and understands the effort it takes for content creators to grow their followers and revenue. We’re excited to have him at the helm as we continue to make Chalkboard the one-stop-shop for betting conversation.”
Holka is a veteran of fantasy sports and gambling with more than 10 years’ experience. He started his career with Anaheim Ducks affiliated teams in 2014 and was a hockey pro with the ECHL New York Rangers.
In 2009, Holka became an analyst and began to interpret daily fantasy sport data from the NFL and NHL for FantasyLabs. Later, he worked with The Action Network. Holka has also launched his YouTube betting channel on sports in 2019.
Holka commented: “We’re currently living in the golden age of sports betting as it becomes more and more mainstream. Due to the rapid growth of sports betting, there is a greater variety of players with different experience levels and requirements. I’m thrilled to join the Chalkboard team and develop content that fuels user engagement and facilitates valuable conversation.”
