The Government of Gibraltar has awarded a contract to Continent 8 Technologies.
Gibraltar, Continent 8, and Gibraltar work together from 2011, with the new contract covering data centres hosting services running until 2027.
It has provided the required solutions via its secure data hub, 500m under the Rock at a former Ministry of Defence facility.
David Black, Managing Director of EMEA at Continent 8 Technologies, said: “We are delighted to be chosen by the Government of Gibraltar to be the trusted hosting partner of its critical infrastructure for the next five years. Although it was an open tender process, our solution came out as the best.
“Buried deep within the Rock of Gibraltar in a former MoD facility, our world-class Gibraltar data centre is unrivalled in the level of security it offers our customers. Our range of services, including managed hosting and public cloud, makes us an ideal infrastructure partner for both local and global businesses.
“While we are a global business that spans more than 85 connected locations around the world, we deliver highly localised solutions in the markets we operate and will continue to take this approach as we deploy our ambitious international expansion plans.”
Earlier this month, Continent 8 Technologies appointed Kristian Valenta as the new CFO, making him responsible for the company’s overall finances.
Additionally, back in June, CEO Tobin discussed the group’s plans for the future in an interview for GI Huddle, while this week CPO Justin Cosnett also joined The Huddle.
