GeoComply will partner with American Indian Science and Engineering Society to support science, technology engineering and mathematics education and job opportunities for Indigenous peoples in North America and the Pacific Islands.
GeoComply aims at advancing diversity, inclusion and equality in STEM. It works with AISES to develop education and employment programs that are focused on the gaming sector.
GeoComply was founded in 2011 and provides cybersecurity and fraud prevention solutions. These include the detection of location fraud, identity verification and security systems. The company works with many international customers, including FanDuel (Amazon Prime Video), DraftKings (BBC), FanDuel (MGM Resorts), and BBC.
Lindsay Slader, GeoComply Managing Director of Gaming, commented: “We’re looking forward to creating education and career opportunities for indigenous communities in North America at GeoComply. These communities make up nearly half of gaming operations in the US and can play a significant role in advancing STEM in those industries.”
AISES, a non-profit national organization that aims at increasing the participation of Indigenous peoples in North America and the Pacific Islands was established in 1977.
The programme supports STEM careers through diverse chapters at chartered colleges and universities, professional chapters and associated K-12 schools.
Dr Johnny Poolaw, AISES Director of Student Success, added: “As our world becomes more advanced with technology and science, and our Tribal Nations continue to grow and flourish, our Indigenous students must understand how and why a STEM career can not only provide an amazing career, but can also provide opportunities to give back to our communities and our world.”
