Ontario authorities granted Bragg Gaming Group an Ontario gambling supplier license. It allows Bragg Gaming Group to supply its bet content and technology to other operators.
The licence, granted by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), covers Bragg Gaming’s player account management platform, known as PAM, in addition to its portfolio of iGaming and sports betting content.
Ontario, Canada’s province, will begin iGaming operations on April 4. This follows a legalization process that lasted just two years.
Chris Looney, CCO, Bragg Gaming, commented: “This licence is another milestone achievement for Bragg. Hot on the heels of Bragg’s recent launches in the UK, which has similar regulatory standards to Ontario, and the Netherlands, where we successfully launched local partner brands on our PAM, as well as content and aggregation products, we are now fully ready to support our Canadian partners as the market prepares to open up.”
Bragg Gaming’s licence means it will be able to partner with B2C operators in the province. Rivalry Corp., PointsBet and theScore Bet, a Penn National Gaming subsidiary, are some of the licensed operators in Ontario.
Ontario will be the first iGaming market in North America when it is fully functional.
Speaking about Ontario specifically, Looney said: “Ontario is where we call home, so we are very excited for the opening of the regulated iGaming market here, as it offers significant untapped potential for Bragg to showcase its leading content and platform technology.
“Receiving our supplier licence in Ontario will allow us to make consistent progress as we prepare to launch in this exciting marketplace, where we are seeing strong interest from a deep mix of local, US and international-based operators with both land-based and online backgrounds.”
