Sportradar, Media Troopers are granted Ontario iGaming licenses
Gambling Insider
Sportradar and Media Troopers were approved by the Canadian government to launch their online gaming services after the Ontario official launch.
Sportradar was granted a supplier license, which allows it to offer live streaming, betting odds and technology platforms as well as media services to its partners in Ontario.
The likes of FanDuel and DraftKings, two current partners of Sportradar, received their operator licences in the build-up to Ontario’s launch. Sportradar currently holds 36 of these licences in North America.
Media Troopers also received an identical licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which allows the agency to offer its services to the operators of the province.
Media Troopers can also be found in live streaming in Washington DC and 16 states of the United States.
Sam Segal, CEO, Media Troopers, commented: “Now is an exceptionally exciting time, both for bettors and operators in Ontario and for us here at Media Troopers.
“Expanding our services to Canada and adding Ontario to our portfolio is a huge milestone. This natural progression into exciting North American markets allows us to reach new audiences.”
Media Troopers partners with many gambling operators like Sportradar. Many of these operators have recently been granted their licenses.
Kings Entertainment, a company that focuses primarily on online casinos and lottery, commented on the launch in Ontario of iGaming.
This operator recently expanded to Latin America. It owns WinTrillions, LottoKings, and LottoKings.
Steve Budin, CEO, Kings Entertainment, said: “This is an exciting development for the Ontario iGaming market. The world’s jurisdictions are increasingly adopting regulatory frameworks to support private-sector legal gambling. This is done in order to create a safe environment for gaming, provide tourism opportunities, and retain revenue within legally regulated entities.
“We’re fully supportive of these objectives and are exploring opportunities to expand into these emerging markets.”
The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission has informed Crown Melbourne that it will be pursuing disciplinary action against the operator of the casino. This was initiated by the VGCCC.
