IMG has been appointed as the Global Esports Federation’s strategic partner. Through this collaboration, alongside IMG’s strategic partners for esports services, FACEIT, the Commonwealth Esports Championships will be formed.
The event is set to be held in Birmingham this August, and following this IMG will also support and provide commercial consultancy for the second edition of the GEF’s flagship event in December; the Istanbul 2022 Global Esports Games.
IMG, a talent and sports management firm based in New York City is the headquarters. Endeavour has owned it since 2013. The media industry employs it to represent more than 200 associations, groups, and events.
Lorenzo Giorgetti, Board Chair and Member of the GEF Brand, Marketing, Communications Commission, stated: “We’re proud to have IMG join our Global Esports family. This partnership is important not just for IMG and the GEF, but also for gamers, fans, and other brands. Together, we look forward creating immense value for both the GEF (and our other worldwide properties).
Through the use of IMG’s expertise and global reach, it is hoped that global expansion of the GEF esports events portfolio can be accelerated. Live content creation, branding, event management and management of partnership rights will all be used to achieve this.
Paul J. Foster, GEF CEO added that “it’s the connection, sharing our human stories that is unlocking the superpowers in our time.” IMG is a proud partner of ours as they help passionate brands connect with esports.
We have witnessed the power of partnerships to create magic for our community. Our #worldconnected community helps us to increase our collective strength and discover new possibilities together.
“Esports can be elevated on the international stage by our worldwide group of GEF partner partners, who share our optimism and deep commitment to the community.”
