AstroPay’s digital payment offerings in Brazil have been further enhanced by Pix, a local payment method.
Created and managed by the Central Bank of Brazil since its launch in October 2020, Pix’s payment volume totals more than 80% of debit and credit card transactions in Brazil.
AstroPay is expanding its payment options with Pix. This expansion will include the Pix native viewing and Software Developer Kit (SDK), for merchants.
The native view navigates the user to AstroPay’s checkout directly from the merchant’s site, while the Pix QR code will be shown directly, avoiding any redirection to Pix’s site. The merchants can now use this feature. This has led to an additional 7% rise in conversions.
Any merchant that has the AstroPay solution embedded via SDK can use this process.
Mikael Lijtenstein, AstroPay CEO, said: “As an agile fintech company, we strive to provide our users and merchants with the best payment experience and constantly invest in technology to adapt to their needs.
The new capabilities will enable merchants and users to communicate more effectively with customers who choose to pay via Pix. This is a revolutionary change in the payment industry in Brazil. By utilising AstroPay wallet, users will experience quicker and frictionless payment journey with a payment method of their choice.”
AstroPay’s expansion plans will continue with the new capabilities, which allow it to connect with more than 200 merchants in Brazil and 1.5million users.
After its debut in Brazil in 2021 in December, the last month witnessed AstroPay expands its Latin America linksBy introducing payment options to Peru, Chile and Mexico for medium and small-sized businesses.
