Workgroup: Standard data format for electronic nose dataWorkgroup leader: Jan Mitrovics, JLM Innovation, Germany The objective of the WG was to define an official data format for e-nose data. This will reduce time consumption for conversion and the improvement of data exchange and strengthen inter-partner collaboration. A standard data format is also a prerequisite for the building of a database with electronic nose data. Workplan of the WG:
NOSE members and the open public were asked for participants in this WG to contribute to the definition of requirements and to technical details of the standard e-nose data format. The participants were part of the review process for the documents and provided proposals to its content. Exchange of information was done through a mailing list organized by the WG leader. Proposals were sent to the WG leader who incorporated them into the draft documents and distributed the drafts on a regular basis. The NOSE II Data FormatThe NOSE II Standard Data format is presented and explained in detail and was made available to the public with some example file to illustrate the concept. Note: .xml is a file containing data, .dtd is a definition file that describes how the xml file has to look. The .dtd file is available publicly, so that XML-parsers can access it.
XML ViewerThe "NOSE XML viewer" is a open source software tool to handle data in the NOSE II data format based on XML:
