Page 1 of 4 New concepts for chemical sensing
Linköping (Sweden)
18-21 May 2003
Scope
The second workshop of the NOSE II network took place in May 18-21, 2003 at Linköping University, Sweden. The workshop offered an opportunity to be updated on the state of the art and the development directions of research and applications of artificial olfaction and taste systems. Special attention was also devoted to distributed sensor systems and new concepts for chemical sensing.
Format
The workshop consisted of five oral sessions and a poster session. Each oral session featured keynote speakers who presented their own opinions and visions about the theme of the session. The talks were intended to raise questions that will stimulate the discussion. One of the oral sessions and the poster session was based on abstracts submitted by the participants. During the poster session there was also a presentation of S-SENCE (the Swedish Sensor Centre). S-SENCE is a centre of excellence within the field of bio- and chemical sensor science and technology, with a direct co-operation between Linköping University and industrial partners. During this session several of the industrial partners presented their activities. Other companies had show-case presentations of their activities and products during the workshop as well.
