NOSE II Shourt Courses

Intention

The main objective of the NOSE II Short Courses was the education and training of researchers and users (targeted at beginners in the field) in the technology and the related sciences by the most excellent teachers selected from the large member base of NOSE II and also outside organisations. The agenda comprising always basic science and practical hints was expected to best support the participants in their daily work. Consequentely, the lectures were balanced between basic, introductory level topics and practical examples coming from industry experts. Practical examples and hands-on experience seemed to be of great importance and value for the participants judged from the feedback of the participants.

They also acted as a meeting platform for infomal discussions among the participants and the teachers and established many links between scientist coming from very different fields of activity. They were a platform for exchange of ideas and knowledge in many ways. People new in this field from different groups and different parts of Europe had a chance to meet others alike themselves and the known experts.
